Board of Directors 2005-2006
This program
year is going by extremely quickly. We only have two professional development
meetings left, and both should prove to be interesting and exciting events.
On March
21, we'll be touring Gardner Denver Thomas, in Sheboygan. Thomas is a major supplier of OEM vacuum
pumps and compressors. The tour is
limited to 40 people, so please sign up early to have the opportunity to see
their manufacturing and assembly processes.
The professional development meeting will be held after the tour at the
nearby Crossroads Restaurant. All the
details can be found in this newsletter.
We've
designated the April meeting 'Top Management Night'. We'll be presenting member awards and the
'Company of the Year Award'. Scholarship
winners will be announced. We also have
some nice door prizes to give out. More
details on this meeting will be available in the next newsletter.
At our
February professional development meeting we enjoyed an insightful presentation
on Lean Concepts given by Denny McCullough.
A big thank you also goes to Jim Prellwitz who filled in for me as the
master of ceremonies on short notice and did a superb job.
Our CPIM
review classes continue with
"Execution and Control of Operations". If you are interested
in attending, but couldn’t take advantage of our offerings this year, please
keep in mind that the entire program will begin again in September. Not all
details are set, but please contact me if you are interested.
I wish to
thank all of you for being part of our organization, and for participating in
our events. If there is something you expect from us that we are not
delivering, please contact me, or any of the Board members, as we always seek
to continuously improve.
I hope to
see many of you at the Thomas tour.

As the
world leader in pressure and vacuum technologies, Thomas has been servicing the
needs of OEMs for more than four decades. They have partnered with thousands of
OEM design engineers to develop vacuum pump and compressor solutions that
enhance the quality and dependability of their finished products.
As a
company structured to serve the OEM, they understand the critical requirements
that each OEM application has in terms of power consumption, volume, noise,
airflow, vibration, cost and more. If
one of their existing models does not meet the exact specifications, they are
able, through their unique design and engineering expertise, to develop a
completely new model, or modify an existing design. The result is a custom pump
or compressor that meets the exact requirements of the OEM application at the
lowest possible cost.
Some of the
markets they serve include Automotive, Environmental, Medical and other OEM
markets.
