Board of Directors 2006-2007
Time really
does fly. This summer seems to have gone by in a flash. Granted, it’s not over yet, but within a week or so all of the
students will be off to class, and the daylight hours are getting shorter.
However, not all good things end with summer; fall is a beautiful time and when
we begin our program year.
We are very
excited that Bob Collins, past APICS International President and well renowned
Supply Chain Consultant, will be our keynote speaker at our meeting on the 19th of September at Millhome. Please save
this day on your calendars. You won’t want to miss his
presentation the on the skills needed to be successful in Supply Chain
Management.
There are
still some openings available in our CPIM Certification Review Class “Basics of
Supply Chain Management” beginning on Thursday September 21st.
The classes are held at Bemis Plant N and more
information on the program is available in that section of the newsletter.
Please contact me with any questions, for any additional
information, or to register for the classes. We have a good sized class already, so please register soon to ensure
a spot.

Title: Supply Chain Management – the Skills
You will Need Today and Tomorrow
Abstract:
It is
widely acknowledged that continual improvements in Supply Chain practices are
increasing customer satisfaction, saving companies millions of dollars,
increasing delivery time and providing a competitive advantage in the
marketplace. Speaking from his
experience within the Supply Chain community and as a former Society President
of APICS, the Association of Operations Management, Bob
will address where he believes Supply Chain Management is heading. He will address what your company needs to do
to build a Supply Chain that provides a competitive advantage in the
marketplace and what skills you will need to learn to help your company build
that competitive Supply Chain. Bob will
also offer some ideas about how to learn and build those skills.
