Board of Directors 2007/2008
Our 2006-2007 program year has come to an end. It was a very
successful one for us. All PDM’s were very well
attended; we had an excellent group of PDM speakers; enjoyed an interesting
tour at Spancrete; held PDM’s
at several new venues; we have attracted new talented individuals to serve on
our Board; our CPIM Review Program flourished; and membership has grown. Thank
you to all on the Board of Directors who made our programs possible, and to all
of our members for their support and participation.
The major purpose o this newsletter however, is not to look
back, but to let you know our plans for the future. While some are tentative and details need to
be filled in, we have included in this writing our PDM schedule with locations;
our CPIM review schedule (Thanks once again to Bemis for allowing us to use
their facility); and a listing of our new officers for the upcoming year. There
are several changes of note here. We wish to thank Carolyn Johnson for her
services as Membership VP as she leaves us due to time constraints. We welcome
Dave Wargin from the student chapter, who will be
taking over her role. Alice Ward will be joining us as Executive VP, giving us
a smooth transition to president in 2008-2009. This is a big role to step into
and we are please Alice has agreed to take it on. Joy Thiers
who will become treasurer (served same role for Fox Valley) as Linda Tryba transitions to Student Chapter VP. I can’t say enough
about Linda’s contributions for the past five + years I have been involved with
the chapter. She has served on the BOD for the longest time of any present BOD
member, and is the glue that holds us together. I relied on her knowledge and
expertise on many an occasion while serving as president. She does so much more that her titled role as
treasurer, and I am pleased that she will remain part of the new Board.
The last change is the one that is bittersweet to me. I am
pleased that Jim Prellwitz will be President for the
upcoming year, as he brings excellent ideas and talents to the chapter. On the
other hand, after having served as president for four years, it’s hard to say
good-bye. I am truly thankful that I had the opportunity to serve as president.
It has been challenging, but also very rewarding. It has been a great honor to
work with and for such a great group of dedicated professionals who have the
drive and desire to make good things happen and to seek opportunities for
growth. I hope that in some small way, I made a difference while working with
these talented and innovative people. I know next year looks bright; as Jim
takes over as president and many of the same BOD members with the addition of
new talent in Alice, Dave and Joy.
I, like Linda, am not leaving the Board of Directors. I will
remain as Certification VP, and in that role, ask that you consider signing up
for our review classes in the fall if you are not certified. Our schedule is
included in this newsletter, and you can register with me by email or by phone
(information also included). Please also contact me with any questions you
might have about our program or certification in general.
Once again, thank you for providing me the opportunity to
serve as the chapter’s president. I am proud to have been a part of such a
strong chapter with great leaders and a bright future.
I ask that all of you seek opportunities to broaden your
knowledge during the summer months, and hope to see you again in the fall at
one of our events.
Have a healthy, happy and safe summer.
