To our readers:

President’s Message

There is a simple but prophetic line from the movie, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, which pops to the front of my mind every so often. “Life goes by very fast and if you don’t stop to look around once in a while you might miss it.”

So it is with this season of APICS Professional Development Meetings.  It seems like we just started and here we are fast approaching the last meeting of the season.

This season gave us our share of challenges and once again we came thru with flying colors due to the tremendous efforts off our board of directors and the great turnouts and participation from our chapter members and guests.

Our board has filled some much needed positions but is always looking for new people and ideas to make the Shoreline Chapter even better by providing the services and education that our members are looking for.

Our March 12th PDM was “Student Night” and was held at Seven Lakes Golf Course and Restaurant near Cato, Wisconsin west of Manitowoc.  Denny McCullough presented the unique topic of “Ten Important Lessons You Won’t Learn in School”.

Our April 17th meeting will be our TOP Management Night and is being held at Richards in Sheboygan. Please check this newsletter for details on the speaker and topic.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire board for their support this last year.  It has been a very odd experience serving as president while spending most of my time out of the country.  I feel like I have missed out on many opportunities to share in the professional development meetings and the other events that our chapter takes pride in.

Next year looks to be an even busier schedule for me so I regrettably will not be able to participate to the extent that I wish I could or should.  I can only count on the great team of people that we have in place to continue to make the chapter a great organization and to once again provide the guidance and work to put together great speakers and locations for our members.

Thanks again to all.

James Prellwitz, CPIM
