To our Readers:

President’s Message

We are off to a super start for 2010 with our 1st PDM for year at Knox’s Silver Valley.  As usual our speaker, Greg Gauthier, brought us some new insights on negotiation skills that can use any where.  Our February PDM also promises to be very informational.  See details and registration information below.

There are only 2 Weeks Left to Submit Your Presentations for the 2010 APICS Call for Presentations.  The theme for this year's conference is Excellence in the New Normal: Best Practices in Global Supply Chain and Operations Management. As we emerge from the global recession, APICS members are in search of ways to navigate the significant, permanent changes that have occurred at their organizations, in their profession, and in the economy. Educational sessions selected for APICS 2010 will provide actionable best practices for global supply chain and operations management.  If interested log onto www.apics.org for more information.

There is still time to register for the next CPIM certification class: Execution and Control of Operations. The class is due to begin February 25, Contact Bruce Balthazar for details.

The next BOD meeting will take place Tuesday February 2 at 6 PM at LTC.  We will be looking for a vice-president for the 2010/11 program year that will begin in May.  If you are interested plan to attend a BOD meeting during this program year.

Hope to see you at this month’s PDM.

Insight into the New Economy.
Best Practices for Organizations and Individuals that plan to be here tomorrow!

SPEAKER: PAUL DECKER

Paul Decker shares his insights from life experience helping people and organizations adjust and thrive in the 21st Century. He has worked in sales and as an executive for Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, local and internationally based manufacturing firms, and serves on several Boards.

In 1997 Paul’s life was interrupted by a sudden diagnosis of a large mass in the right lung. It turned out to be a cancerous tumor, and had spread to his lymph nodes. His right lung and several lymph nodes were removed, and six weeks later he started chemotherapy, followed by radiation. It was a shock since Paul had never smoked and displayed no tell-tale symptoms. After a year of strenuous rehabilitation, Paul was back rebuilding his life.

Recently completing his Master’s degree, learning and implementing new skills has proven successful for Paul, and he brings those skills to life in his keynote speeches, strategic planning sessions, leadership and sales training seminars, coaching, and mentoring.

Paul works with a vast array of private clients that include Fortune 500 organizations, businesses with 10 to 2000 people, non-profits, universities and business associations.  Paul has developed customized training programs for firms based on customer needs, industry protocols, his vast experience, and the latest research from his teaching and learning. Paul teaches in the Small Businesses Center at Waukesha County Technical College and currently serves as District Trainer for Rotary International District 6270 and will be District Governor in 2010-11. He is also on the Midwest Division Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, and recently was appointed to Waukesha County Board of Supervisors.
